I like Volvo’s Power Blue
European cars are known for having white, black, and grey cars. There may be many different shades, but most of the cars are silver or grey. So, you can imagine my surprise when this Power Blue 2014 Volvo S60 showed up in our inventory. Add to that the Soft Beige interior and you’ve got a car that makes you look. I kinda like it. It reminds me of my first Jaguar XJ6 which was light blue with beige interior. Nice.
Five cylinder engines to disappear soon?
About a year ago, Car & Driver published an article about the soon-to-disappear five cylinder engine. True to schedule, Mercedes-Benz has already introduced a turbo 4-cylinder and Volvo is scheduled to do so next year. The new fuel economy standards are what are driving the changes. But will 3-cylinders ever make a come back? Read the article to see what might be coming.
What ever happened to the Volvo S80?
The current edition of the Volvo S80 came out in 2007. But when is the last time you heard about it? All of the hype has been directed toward the S60 and XC60—the most recently updated models in Volvo’s portfolio. Today I drove a 2012 Volvo S80 3.2 FWD and was reminded of how nice the car is. If I was in the market for a large sedan, this would definitely be on the top of the list. It is comfortable, economical (29 mpg hwy), and looks good! And with incentives on 2012-13 models, the price is also very attractive.
Someone has said that “wheels maketh the car.” While walking through the Mercedes-Benz service garage today, I came across these OEM wheels. Very interesting styling! I’m not sure if I like it or not, but they certainly caught my attention. What do you think?
