The buyer seems to be having second thoughts.
After a little more than a year and 10,000 miles, the white 1990 Jaguar Sovereign will be finding a new home next week. I came to terms with the new owner this evening and will be delivering the car to him early next week. He is the perfect person for it as he wants to take his time and fix it up in his spare time. That’s a good thing and I’m much more comfortable with that type of a buyer.
So, why am I getting rid of the Jaguar? Well… do you remember pictures of a Mr. Heater during the winter. The heater system never did work right. And having a propane heater in the car while you’re driving isn’t the best idea as you can imagine. The point is that having a 23 year old Jaguar for a daily driver isn’t the best idea unless you are independently wealthy or the car is in great shape already. Neither describes my situation. So, it’s time to move in a different direction.
Honestly, I had been looking for another Jaguar XJ-S. That would be a wonderful ride (despite putting myself into the same difficult situation). But this time, I’m trying to think a bit more practically. It’s probably time to get something that will be more reliable even if I can’t take it to car shows. I’ve already got something picked out and I think you will be quite surprised. Any ideas?
