Remember the Safe-n-Secure and Safe+Secure coverage plans that Volvo has been offering on their new cars? The program is still being offered with all new Volvos, but, according to Leikin Volvo, it will not be offered after January 2, 2013.
We have just received some sad news about new Volvos. The Safe and Secure program will end officially on 01/02/2013. Since 06/02/2009 the Safe and Secure program has been giving new car buyers 5 yrs / 50,000 miles of warranty, free factory scheduled maintenance, wear and tear, and roadside assistance on purchases and 3 yrs / 36,000 miles or 4 yrs / 48,000 miles on leases. The good news is that Volvo has given us plenty of time during this Holiday season to inform our current and future customers that now is the time for great holiday deals that DO include the Safe and Secure package.
Besides the warranty, the best part of the coverage is the free factory scheduled maintenance. That’s nothing to sneeze at especially when you consider the cost of the scheduled services. Sure, you could do the work yourself, but it’s always good to have an expert look over your car every 7,500 – 10,000 miles. When the plan first came out, I was a salesman. I remember adding up the total value of the coverage plan. At the time it was something like $6,000 when compared to extending the warranty an additional year and having all the maintenance done at a Volvo dealership.
I’m not sure what will be offered next year, so if you are thinking about purchasing a new Volvo, now would be a good time to take advantage of the opportunity.
