The Volvo V60 is the Europe-only wagon version of the new 2011-12 Volvo S60. Rumor has it that the V60 will replace the V50 in the near future. But there is still no word about its North American debut. However, the following videos will give you a basic idea of what the European version is like and what we could expect. Note that the diesel engine has not yet been produced for the USA.

Personally, I like the R-Design versions of the various Volvo models. My attraction to the trim level probably goes back to the S60R and V70R, which were serious performance machines. That’s not necessarily the case nowadays as the current R-Design models do not get a boost in horsepower. However, the look of the R-Design is much better on each model. And on some of the models, you do get the dynamic sport suspension, bigger wheels, and some mean looking exterior/interior trim. Here’s what it costs for each upgraded model in the US.
MODEL | BASE PRICE | R-DESIGN |
C30 | 25,475 | 27,825 |
S40 | 28,625 | 32,025 |
V50 | 29,875 | 33,725 |
XC60 3.2 | 33,275 | 38,925 |
XC60 T6 | 39,275 | 42,425 |
XC90 3.2 | 39,075 | 40,875 |
Is it worth the added money? Your wallet will no doubt help you make that decision; but if it was me, I’d choose the R-Design.
