It happened almost instantaneously! As soon as this 2008 Audi RS4 was displayed in our inventory, we began getting emails from all over the country. People wanted pictures and details even before the car was serviced and detailed. Today we got a clean bill of health from the local Audi dealership and took a few pictures to show the interested parties. As you can see in the pictures below, the car has many desirable features such as leather racing seats, front and rear heated seats, navigation, moon roof, etc. But too me I think the car itself is not the selling point. What seems to have the online community climbing into our dealership’s inbox is the 420 hp 4.2L V8, 6-speed manual transmission, and Quattro AWD.
At this point, I have only driven the car a few feet for the pictures I took with my Windows Phone. So, I can’t comment on the performance. But from what others have said, this must be an incredible machine to drive. Edmunds says “Want high-end sports car performance, but need an actual backseat and trunk? The 2008 Audi RS 4 may be just what the doctor ordered, as it’s more fun than an M5 and much less expensive.” Autoblog’s review includes two positive comments: “This thing is completely unbelievable” and “this is ridiculous.” The Truth About Cars describes it as “a wild animal that begs to be tamed.” Sounds like a fun car to drive on the race track (or that you’d find pulled over quite often).
There is no doubt that the car would be fun to drive. And the writer of each review makes me want to take it out for a spin on the highway. But what about you? Do you find the design of the car appealing? And at the end of the day, is this the type of car you would buy?
