My daily driver doesn’t have a working heater. One of the two fans works, but the climate panel doesn’t operate correctly for some reason. I’ve replaced the panel several times with an eBay unit. But each time I turn it on, all of the lights light up and only high speed works. I’ve been offered a new one for $600 by a local mechanic and Jagbits has a new one for $375. But I’m not quite ready to take that plunge especially as I don’t know if that will fix the problem.
I keep telling myself that early automobile owners didn’t have heat and it was still an option on cars in the 1960’s. So, what’s my problem. With a few extra layers of clothing and the windows slightly rolled down for circulation, I should be fine, right? Actually, it does work fairly well that way. But when there is a bunch of moisture in the air, the windows steam up a bit too much to handle. So, while I try to figure out the Jag’s heating system, I have been using a portable propane heater. It works fairly well as long as a window or moonroof is slightly open.
Fun. Fun. Fun.
