We saw another interesting vehicle in front of Signature Motors a few weeks ago. It was a little further back from the road but no less prominent. It’s one of those cars that looks like a number of other makes from that time period. I had several guesses in mind as we walked toward it. It’s not what I thought, but when I looked at the name on the back, it made perfect sense. What, pray tell, is Mystery Car 71?

It’s the coupe version of the Triumph Spitfire. I think it’s just called the GT. Seems as if there were something else in there, like GT II or GT IV or something like that.
A high school classmate of mine loved his Spitfire. It was the racing green color. Man, that thing would overheat during hot weather virtually everyday, and the lack of A/C put a pretty severe crimp in his dating potential given that in the late 1970’s and early 1980’s the girls all wore “big” fancy hairstyles around here.
