Ever since I started driving European cars, I’ve become quite the snob. American cars just don’t do much for me anymore. New Camaro? Too cartoonish. New Mustang? Odd rear windows. New Dodge Challenger? Too yellow. For instance, there was a $51k Dodge Challenger SRT8 Yellow Jacket at the Polo Fields where we dropped off our Mercedes-Benz show models and the salesmen were talking it up. I honestly didn’t think much of it. But show me a new Jaguar, Volvo, or Mercedes-Benz and I’m interested.
So, what was it that got me to put Mystery Car 114 up to bat for this edition of the Mystery Car? I guess it was this article at AutoBlog about Chrysler’s desire to get back into producing small pickup trucks. The original Dodge Ram with the flared fenders turned a lot of heads. It was a lot different than the typical squared off Chevy and Ford offerings of the 80’s. And even though I’m a European snob now, I liked the looks of Mystery Car 114 which happens to be none other than … a Dodge M80 concept truck. Read the article for more information.
