Another thing GM either copied or stole from Saab. This is the same routine the Saab performance team did/does. Has GM done anything original in the last 50 years? They certainly have gotten some mileage out of the archaic pushrod V8 powering the CTS-V.
Had you been in Shanghai two years ago you would have seen the Saab Performance Team doing these tricks. Probably oogled by young Chinese stunt drivers picking up a trick or two.
The SPT is NOT a thing only from the 80ies.
